What is hosting and why do I need it?

A Web host is a company that stores the files for your website on a special computer and makes them available for visitors on the internet. Payments are usually annual and the price of hosting is determined partly by the size of your site and by the number of visitors the site recieves. You can sign up with a Web host yourself, or we can do it for you.

What is a domain name and why do I need one?

A domain name is your unique address on the Web - www.yoursite.com, for example. Without a domain name, it would be difficult for vistors to find your site. You can get your own name from a Domain name registrar or we can do it for you

How do you make your Websites?

We hand-code our sites and test them in major browsers to make they work for a broad range of visitors. We also design our sites to that they stretch and shrink to fit most screen sizes and resolutions.

What does "Alcinoe" mean?

Alcinoe is the name of a star in the Pleiades cluster. Other spellings include "Alcyone" and "Alkyone".
